Dickov Sets Sights On Europe
Blackburn goalscorer Paul Dickov admitted after Monday night’s 2-1 win over Portsmouth that a UEFA Cup place is among his team’s aims this season.
Having fallen behind to Matthew Taylor’s third-minute goal, man of the match Morten Gamst Pedersen and Dickov turned things around before half-time.
It was a fourth successive victory - and third in the Barclays Premiership - for Rovers, and Dickov reports that has raised expectations.
“It was a big win for us. That’s four on the trot now, and we are going in the right direction,” he said.
“It is going well. The team is going well, and we are picking up a few results.
“The manager (Mark Hughes) has always said we can be a top-10 team and we are eighth now - so why not look to Europe?”
