MORTEN DREAMS OF EUROPE

MORTEN DREAMS OF EUROPE

Blackburn wideman Morten Gamst Pedersen is confident of winging his way into Europe.

Rovers’ left-sided star believes under manager Mark Hughes the club will be playing in next season’s UEFA Cup, possibly the Champions League.

After winning six and drawing one of their last seven games at Ewood Park, Blackburn are firmly in the mix for a top-six finish in the Barclays Premiership.

But with the gap just three points to fourth-placed Tottenham, the race is on for the final Champions League spot - and it looks set to go right to the wire.

Up next for Rovers are a Middlesbrough side in buoyant mood following their UEFA Cup heroics in midweek, offering Pedersen a taster of what is on offer.

The Norway international said: “From Spurs down to 10th, it is a close race. There are not many points separating those teams.

“Anyone could get into Europe if they do well from now until the end of the season.

That's four on the trot now, and we are going in the right direction," he said. "It is going well. The team is going

Pedersen has sights on Europe Blackburn Rovers winger Morten Gamst Pedersen has in recent days spoken of how he feels Rovers should again this season be targeting another challenge amongst the top elite for a place in Europe. So far, Rovers have had a rocky start with two losses, two draws and their first win recorded Sunday at the expense of Manchester City, winning 4-2. This win would see them climb from rock bottom to twelfth place.
