Broadband Britain is champ of Europe

Broadband Britain is champ of Europe The UK is now Europe's largest broadband market, according to figures released by analyst firm Point Topic on Friday. Point Topic reported that there are now 9.8 million high-speed internet lines in the UK, compared to 9.7 million in France and 8.4 million in Germany, the second and third largest broadband markets in Europe. This follows several years of explosive broadband take-up, thanks to lower prices and BT's push to make broadband available to more than 99 per cent of homes. Legge Europe-bound for wet test

Legge Europe-bound for wet test Katherine Legge will return to Europe in search of suitable conditions for her next test, heading to the Italian coast for a first run in a P1 powerboat. Bound for the NFL via Europe Thats always a heartwarming story. Even more so when the local lads make good 5,000 miles from home. Thats where Skyler Fulton and Roger Robinson find themselves. Fulton grew up in Olympia, Wash., and signed with the Seattle Seahawks in January so they could allocate him to the NFL Europe League. Robinson played college football at Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, which hosts the Arizona Cardinals training camp, and signed with the Cardinals to play in Europe. Fulton, a receiver for the Amsterdam Admirals, led the league in receptions (53) and receiving yards (992). His six 100-yard games set

In Europe, a Wariness of Inflation Jean-Claude Trichet, the president of the European Central Bank, has signaled that policy makers are considering whether a steady and gradual pickup in borrowing costs might be needed to contain prices, a sign that a blossoming economic recovery might be here to stay. During its monthly policy meeting Thursday, the banks governing council voted to keep interest rates at 2.5 percent, after raising them a quarter-point in March. But during a news conference after the decision, Trichet, in his most explicit language yet, indicated that the bank was considering further increases in the months ahead

Spirited vodka war erupts in Europe

Spirited vodka war erupts in Europe Heini Alajaaski doesnt understand what all the fuss is about. For her vodka, or viina in Finnish, is mostly about having a good time and not what its made of. But battle lines have been drawn in a Europe wide vodka war as nations wrangle over the definition of the centuries-old spirit. The stakes are high as rival groups fight for dominance in a booming world vodka market worth around $12 billion in annual sales. Finland is aligned with Poland, Sweden and other traditional vodka producers around the Baltic Sea, who want the European Union to
